Inputs determine outputs
A mathematically correct formula can still produce an unsuitable quantity when dimensions are incomplete, a product differs from the default, an area is irregular, or site conditions are unknown. Measure carefully and replace defaults with current manufacturer or supplier information.
Material variation
Coverage, yield, density, package size, moisture, waste, breakage, compaction, application technique, and order increments vary. A displayed result does not guarantee that a particular quantity will complete a project or that unused material can be returned.
Codes and professional judgment
Calculators do not determine structural capacity, electrical loads for installation, HVAC design, safe stair compliance, retaining-wall reinforcement, pavement design, drainage, permits, property boundaries, or product suitability. Consult qualified local professionals and authorities when those issues apply.
Safety
Home projects can involve falls, excavation, buried utilities, heavy loads, electricity, fuel, chemicals, silica, sharp tools, and other hazards. Follow product instructions, use appropriate protective equipment, and do not undertake work beyond your training or legal authorization.
